Take a small-group guided dolphin kayak tour along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay at sunset to combine gorgeous visuals with epic dolphin experiences. Little or no experience is necessary to use our sturdy sit-on-top kayaks to explore the coastal waters of Virginia Beach and get closer to wild dolphins than you have ever been before. Guides will help you launch and navigate along the coast for 2-hrs while you relax and enjoy a magnificent view of the sun setting over the Bay.

What To Expect

First Landing State Park

Meet your guides on the beach at the Main Entrance to First Landing State Park ready for one of Virginia Beach's most unique experiences. After a short briefing on safety and kayak operation, your guides will help launch you and your kayak into the Chesapeake Bay where you will enjoy the thrill of kayaking with Atlantic Bottle nose Dolphins off the Shoreline of Virginia Beach while also witnessing a magnificent sunset.

Cape Henry Lighthouse

Since 1996, We have been offering guided kayak dolphin watching trips to see these amazing creatures during their summer migration off the coast of Virginia. The Sunset Tour combines dolphin watching with a sightseeing tour of landmarks such as The Cape Henry Lighthouses and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. On our Sunset Dolphin Kayak Tour you will likely see dolphins and numerous birds as we paddle along historic Cape Henry in Virginia Beach. Along the way you will also see local landmarks such as the Cape Henry Lighthouses and Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel get lit up by the evening sun as it sinks beyond the horizon of the Bay.

Though this is advertised as a sunset tour it’s actually NOT. It ended a full hour before sunset so IMO we were misled. The rest of the tour was good. We only saw a handful of dolphins but certainly understand this is out of their control. Our boat took on some water when we pushed off so I was sitting in 6” of water the whole time. I expect to get wet when kayaking but not to sit in a tub. Our tour guides were friendly and shared interesting information.

We don't want anyone out on the water after dark so apologize if the actual sun setting was enjoyed from the beach. We can't control the dolphins and all of our literature states that it is not 100% guarantee due to the fact that dolphins are indeed wild animals. The kayak taking on water is our responsibility and we apologize for that experience. I'll be happy to refund your money so please let me know. Glad you enjoyed the guides.

My son and I booked a kyacking tour and it exceeded our expectations. The guides were wonderful although I can't remember their names. We were literally surrounded by dolphins. A couple actually swam underneath us! Some were jumping and playing. This was the highlight of our whole trip! I'm giving them 5 stars but they deserve more!

Being out in the ocean was wonderful! Brought 3 teen boys who genuinely enjoyed the kayaking and seeing dolphins up close. All of us were first time kayakers— very professional guides. Highly recommended.
