Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

Lets face it, part of the nostalgia of Hawaii is surfing, so how would a trip be complete without at least attempting to catch a few waves. After a short but informative introductory lesson and some help from our totally boss instructors, Duked and Sage were catching waves in a matter of moments! We even got the photos and videos to prove it. Take it from us, get a lesson from the folks at Hans Hedermann Surf School! Before you say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, we are over 40 and weren't the oldest in the class who learned how to shred some waves!!!

Charly, Hugo and Cisco were such wonderful, friendly, enthusiastic instructors and made the surf outing a blast! Couldn't ask for a better experience and really fun day!!! Made our first day at Turtle Bay resort a terrific start to vacation

We just spent 14 days at this location. An amazing family getaway. We purchased a 2 hour surf lesson with Hugo who I might say is an amazing person and takes a ton of pride in what he does... he had our 14 and 16 year old up on a board right away and gave them a ton of great knowledge to go forward on making our vacation a memorable one. The photographer was also very accommodating and nice. Unfortunately the girls working in the surf shop do not care for their jobs at all... Not willing to give us any information and not very accommodating. There was a high surf this week and of course we wouldn't take our kids into a area were they would be in any danger, we asked if we could rent boards and would go to the same place that they just had lessons the day before? it was just a flat out no, and if wanted our kids to surf they can just take more lessons... I get it its a business.. She wouldn't give us any useful information and sent us on our way.. I went back to see about the week after could we rent boards and it was again no help. I got angry unfortunately... This brought over another helper that straight up told me just go down the street and rent boards at another beach that it would be calmer there...I thanked him and wondered why she didn't give me this info.. We did go to this other beach and our kids had a great couple of days surfing.. One afternoon we stopped at the beach were they had their lessons to find that the waters are the same as the other beach??? So we went to town and rented some boards and spent the last 10 days at the beach were they took lessons. I believe they didn't want us at this beach since our kids would just get in the way of the instructors giving lessons to new people... Hugo also saw our kids out their during one of his lessons and took his time to come over and say hello and was very friendly to them. Hugo taught the proper surfing skills that will be with our kids forever. great job and thank you..
