What To Expect

Taos Pueblo

UNESCO World Heritage Site - Taos Pueblo a living community dating back over a thousand years and many of the traditions and original structures are still intact PLEASE NOTE: Taos Pueblo can close at any time due to cultural, ceremonial or other reasons. When this occurs we replace our visit with another cultural partner.

Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

Located within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, the 7th tallest bridge in the United States.

San Francisco de Assisi Mission Church

Built in the 1700s and rising up from the earth like a ship on the ocean, this adobe parish has inspired artists throughout time, including Ansel Adam and Georgia O’Keeffe, and has been argued the most depicted Church in the world.

La Hacienda del los Martinez

(approx. 1804 AD). This historical family home with central courtyards will transport you back in time. The home, now a living museum, features important Santos (religious painted carving of saints, original adobe structures, and hand dyed weavings and looms.)

Spent a wonderful day in Taos. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Had a private tour at Taos Pueblo. Beautiful views of the gorge. Private tour of Millicent Rogers Museum. Our tour guide was an art history major and knew a lot. This tour took us to everything we wanted to see.

We were looking forward to the tour, but it doesn't run on Tuesday or Wednesday. We arrive Mon. afternoon and leave Thurs. am. Guess we'll have to use the map and make our own tour and save some money.

We are sorry our tour availability didn't fit into your travel plans. We choose not have this tour available on Tues and Wed since the Taos Pueblo was also closed these days since their opening after Covid. We are committed to honoring our native partners and always reverent to their schedule, not ours. Since they opened 7 days a week starting last month (June 2023) there are still some of our partners in the village that choose not to open on Tues and Wed. We would recommend contacting us directly next time so that we have the opportunity to check with our guides and partners to see if we could accomodate a tour on these days. We hope you do visit Taos Pueblo and enjoy your experience.

Our guide, Lewis, was very knowledgeable about the local history of Taos. We had a great time and we were glad to get out and about around Taos.
