Overview

Eco Endeavors can accommodate up to 12 guests on an Adventure based Eco-Tour through The Ten Thousand Islands of south Florida on our custom built, United States Coast Guard Inspected vessel. Throughout the duration of this 3 hour trip, guests will have the opportunity to see abundant wildlife up close such as dolphin, manatee and several species of birds. We will also stop at an isolated barrier island only accessible by boat to search for rare shells, swim or snorkel. We also offer Private tours for small or large groups directly on our website at EcoEndeavors.org.

Due to Hurricane Ian the precautionary advisory issued by DOH officials we have made some temporary changes to the tour: We will pull the boat directly onto the beach so you will not have to enter the water. Being able to successfully navigate 3 steps is required to enter and exit the boat. We DO NOT recommend swimming while on the barrier islands at this time. We DO recommend wearing beach shoes while on the barrier islands. Although not required, we are taking these precautions as safety is always our priority.

What a fantastic way to spend the afternoon on the water and we were fortunate that it was just our party of five on the trip. Captain Chris was full of interesting stories about the area and took us to a great beach for shells. He went out of his way at the end of our trip to get the dolphins to swim in the wake of our boat. Truly amazing sight to see and oh so close!

Captain Soto & 1st Mate Kristine took our family and a family from Denmark on their 3-hr. boat trip. Dolphins galore, snowy egrets, white ibis & an eaglet —- all in a single morning. Chris and Kristine fill you in on the interaction of Gulf and island tidal action and the changing face of even the smallest features of aquatic and avian life that follows. Our flat bottom craft pulled onto the shore of a key island in a quiet little bay for shelling. I named this spot “Straw Hat Key”. One of our pics explains the name. We really enjoyed the trip and the company of Kristine and Chris. I would call our trip a 4.5 only because I would like added background on the colorful history of 10,000 islands!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our half day exploring Ten Thousand Islands with Captain Soto. He was a wonderful, well-informed host that answered all of our questions, pointed out beautiful birds and wildlife, and made sure we happened upon tons of dolphins. The small tour sizes are perfect and provide a comfortable ride around some of the Ten Thousand Islands and Cape Romano. We stopped on one of the islands for some shelling and beach fun finding lots of great shells to bring back to our nephews. Well worth it!
