The Birmingham Ghost Walk - Hotels Churches and Riots Tour

Overview
This is the introduction and exploration of our dark and interesting history and covers many of the main haunted and unusual sights downtown. We begin with the tales of the founding of our city as a rough and tumble mine and mill town, and continue through on with missing children, and spiteful murders..  We hear the tales of two of our haunted hotels, and three of the five original churches of the city.  There is then the tale of murders most sad, which has led to the legends of the “Mermaid of the Lake” and the major riot that followed. Then continuing through the darkness, with the shadowy footsteps that follow…to the discovery of a hidden cemetery or two…

It was a great way for a first time visitor to learn a little about the city while enjoying the thrill of the ghost tour. I also found it very interesting to learn about the architecture of all the buildings. Our guide was so accommodating and funny. My bf and I had a great time :)

I enjoyed the many stops we made like the Piedmont Hotel, churches, and the cemetery. It’s interesting how so many ghostly stories can be made up by rational people. Wolfgang is very knowledgeable, patient, and really enjoys his job.

Booked a walking tour on 2/2/20. Received confirmation and directions on where to meet. The night of the walking tour, 2/15/20, we went to the designated address only to stand and wait. My friend who had booked the tour called the number on the email. She was told “oh, we cancelled the walking tours because our tour guide never returned after the January tour. The police have been contacted.” Excuse me? Then the gentleman proceeds to say he could come get us in a van. My friend just asked for a refund. Why did no one cancel this tour earlier? Why was she able to book and pay for a tour that was never going to happen. Very poor business practice.

I am terribly sorry that this occured. There are sometimes miscommunications between Online Travel Agency (OTA) sites (Viator/TripAdvisor, Expedia, Air BNB, etc) and our own booking system, and for that we greatly apologize. Many small tour companies (ours included), operate with less than 5 total staff (ours is just 1 main employee (myself) and 2 contractors), and sometimes it is difficult to keep track of 5 or more separate sales channels, and most just presume that it will work like it is supposed to...and well,,,occasionally there is a glitch that we don't catch in time. That is what occurred here, and we are MOST sorry that it did. I now make it a point to look at all of our listings across all platforms on a daily basis, just to make sure. Thank you for understanding. PS - we finally found what happened to our missing guide
