Overview

This is the introduction and exploration of our dark and interesting history and covers many of the main haunted and unusual sights downtown. We begin with the tales of the founding of our city as a rough and tumble mine and mill town, and continue through on with missing children, and spiteful murders.. We hear the tales of two of our haunted hotels, and three of the five original churches of the city. There is then the tale of murders most sad, which has led to the legends of the “Mermaid of the Lake” and the major riot that followed. Then continuing through the darkness, with the shadowy footsteps that follow…to the discovery of a hidden cemetery or two…

My husband and I were the only people on the tour the night we went, but we still had the most amazing time. We’ve been on two other ghost tours in other cities and I believe that this is the best we’ve been on. Our tour guide David was not only extremely knowledgeable, but fun and entertaining as well. He was cracking jokes the entire time and his personality really shines through - something we’re not really used to with these types of tours. We’re both skeptics, but David did an awesome job at developing a suspension of disbelief. The tour was very interactive and fun. I would highly recommend anybody that comes through Birmingham to give it a try. We were only there for one day but we definitely plan on doing some of the other tours when we’re here again.

Danny was a great tour guide!! She was very knowledge and made it fun:) I enjoyed all the stories and seeing Birmingham in a different light. I would recommend.

Great ghost tour! Lots of fun city history mixed in with the ghost stories. Our Guide was really funny too.
