Hi there,
I'm really sad to see this review for 2 reasons...
#1- At age 82, I want you to enjoy our show as much as anyone else. Just a couple nights ago we had another elderly couple your age who bought our VIP upgrade, sat on the front row, and loved the show and intimate nature of the HarborWalk Theater. Clearly, the frustrations you experienced prior to the show (I believe) set the tone for how much (or little) you were going to like the show, which leads me to my second reason this review makes me sad...
#2- Most of your frustration could've been entirely avoided, and I sure hope my guests will read this response because it's going to contain some very helpful information.
For anyone reading this, here's how to avoid the same frustrations this traveler experienced. On the day of the show, we send a text message AND an email to every customer with a link to a special page on our website that has in depth information about how to find our theater, where the closest parking is, and other important details pertaining to the theater and show. Based on everything I've read in this review, this customer either didn't read our message, or never received it. Usually when a customer doesn't receive the message it's due to a typo that they submitted in their reservation. I'm not saying that you submitted a typo, but one way or another you didn't receive or read our messages that day, which would've been a game changer for you.
Now to defend my business a little bit, because after 18 years of doing this professionally, I take all my reviews seriously. Houdini's famous "Metamorphosis", my wife being blindfolded and correctly identifying objects held up by audience members, walking through metal, reading minds of audience members, just to name a few. Sure, the show is appropriate for children, but these aren't typical birthday party tricks. And I'm sorry that you felt you only saw "a few tricks". We performed 16-17 illusions over the course of nearly 2 hours (including a 15 minute intermission).
Yes, the stage is small, and while most people enjoy watching magic in an intimate environment, I am sorry that you did not. To whoever wrote this review, I hope you can see by my response how much I care about you and all my guests. Had you seen the message we sent on the morning of the show, 100% of your frustration (not knowing about HarborWalk's parking fee, which by the way, has nothing to do with our theater which is privately owned, where to park to where you would've had almost no walking to do at all, and not knowing where the theater is) would have been eliminated.
Did you guys try to call the theater prior to the show to ask about our location or anything? I really need to know your story. Please email me at
[email protected] so I can learn more about what went wrong here. We're investing a substantial amount into our show at the moment and I want you to come back and see us next time you're in Destin. If you email me, I will take great care of you and I promise next time you come see the new illusions, your entire experience will be night and day different and I believe we can earn back your trust. I hope I addressed everything, and whether or not I hear from you via email, I just want you to know that we appreciate your business and that we do send messages to our customers to completely avoid the frustrations you experienced.
All the best,
Noah
