The Original Canopy Tour is ideal for both experienced and new zipliners like myself based on the quality of the guides, safety practices, layout of the course through the jungle canopy, and natural beauty of moving through the cloud forest (including a climb up inside a hollowed out strangler fig tree and a 100 foot rappel to the forest floor). The longest zip line--800 meters--crosses a valley hundreds of feet ABOVE the canopy and is a blast; almost as good as flying. Our group of six included 3 people in their 60s, but this is not for the faint of heart: there is some walking, a few steep climbs--including a very tricky rope ladder to get up inside the tree--but it is all beautiful and safe for those physically able. If you or the kids don't want to do the extreme climbing or repelling, you can stick to just the zip lines. HIGHLY recommended--will not disappoint.

The guys at The Original Canopy Tour are excellent - friendly, always safety-conscious and great with kids. The ziplines and other activities are certainly designed to thrill! I'm not good with heights, but I felt safe all the time, and the guides' patience and reassurance was a big help. They also took the initiative to zipline in tandem with the kids in our group on some of the longer lines, which made our cautious 10-year-old feel safer (and, he reports, it was extra fun too - ¡muchas gracias a Gabriel y los demás!). The forest was absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommended!

A friend and I took this tour and listened to the brief information given to us before the activity. The Original Canopy Tour Company failed to mention the very important rule about where to position your head when zip lining. If your head is not to one side of the wire when coming into the finish point then you can hit your head on the plastic break on the wire and this can result in a very serious head injury. This is what happened to me on the last zip-line. As a result I had to insist on being taken to the hospital. I had to have 2 stitches in my forehead and will now be left with a permanent scar. The main problem I had with this tour is the lack of safety information and preparation the guides gave me. To avoid future injuries and accidents I think the tour company should be more comprehensive in their orientation.
