My 10 year old wanted to do zip lining so we scheduled it in and we all enjoyed it tremendously. First and most importantly, the staff inspired great confidence in their professionalism and focus on safety. They were also very nice guys, helping us all to get photos. The Tarzan jump was a good start but for us the most fun was the zip lining especially the longer ones. It was simple to learn and completely different from other activities. For my part, I wouldn't have minded hearing a tiny bit of information about the trees - it was interesting to see the very old ficus for example. But the afternoon was reasonably fast paced so maybe that would have bored the group. We attended an afternoon session which meant we finished up in beautiful late afternoon golden sunlight over the canopy and views out to the sea which was magical.

I would really recommend the original canopy tour. We went with our 2 children (aged 5 and 7) and the staff were really attentive (and fun). The tour was much more intimate and relaxed than the bigger players in town.

David introduced us to our guides Tuca (sp) and Gabriel who were both awesome. Safety was explained and rexplained. Questions answered and off we went. Started with the Tarzan swing - no extra fee here- and what an adrenaline rush. Moved on through cloud forest to 15 zip lines. Kids loved the strangler fig climb and also the rappel (speed slow, medium or OMG). OMG really was that - a complete free fall (harnessed in of course) but another huge adrenaline rush if you are into that! My 70lb son was able to do all the zip lines (except 2) by himself and one of those we all paired up due to the lack of wind and dry lines. Can't recommend these guys highly enough. They love Monteverde and love their job!
