There are so many zip lining companies available in Monteverde that it can be very hard to choose which one to do. I would recommend the Original Canopy Tour to anyone who wants to experience a bit of thrill, the treetop canopies 5 stories up, and who wants to save some (or a lot) of money. We had done the Adventura zip lining experience previously and at $15 more for students it didn't deliver a whole lot more. The longest zip line at Original was 800m, but it felt more than long enough, and the views were spectacular. The Tarzan swing and rappel were a thrill and more than quenched our thrill seeking urge. The best part about Original is the guides. They are all very nice and make you feel safe and comfortable with their near perfect English. There were a group of 3 young children ages 5-11 in our group and the guides would accompany them on any lines that they did not feel comfortable doing on their own, truly remarkable service. I would recommend bringing a jacket and wearing long pants as it can get a little chilly up above the tree tops.

This was my first time on the zip lines and my wife's second time. We had a great time on the 15 zip lines and Tarzan Swing! They also gave us the opportunity to climb through a hollow tree, but none of us did because the ladder down looked pretty wet and slick. The crew was great with all of us. We did it with another couple and a young family of 5, the youngest child was 5 and the oldest 9. Everyone had an amazing time with The Original Canopy Tour! They were real professional and we felt safe the entire time! This is the "must do" zip line company!

My husband and our two kids (12 and 9 years old) went on this tour. We had a total of six people in our group. The staff were kind and fun without being over-the-top in your face like some guides can be. Unfortunately, no one in our family speaks Spanish so we were thankful that the guides could speak English. They were really the perfect type of guides you would want on a fun activity like this. The guides offered to take several pictures so we could get pictures of our whole family together. Very thoughtful. My kids loved the Tarzan swing. A lot of fun. On our first day we got halfway through the tour. A massive thunderstorm started so we had to hike out. It was an adventure hiking out of a rain forest during a thunder and lightening storm! The guides were great through it all. The staff offered to reschedule us for free at a time that worked for us. We opted to come back the next day. When we showed up, there was a huge high school tour group there. They gave us two guides dedicated to just our family of four. The guides asked us if we wanted to start our tour over from the beginning or just do the zip lines we couldn't do the previous day. Because we were on a tight schedule we opted just to the zip lines we couldn't do the day before. They said our kids liked the Tarzan swing and asked if they wanted to do that again. They were very excited to do the swing again! On the zip lines the guide took my phone the entire way, taking videos and pictures of our family all along the trip. I ended up with countless videos and pictures of our trip. The best was that I didn't have to worry about capturing everything on camera - I could simply sit back and enjoy the zip lines. The zip lines were safe and a ton of fun. A couple of them were super long and we even saw monkeys along the way. The views were spectacular! Our family also stopped by another tour company for another activity. We realized how glad we were that we went on The Original Canopy Tour. The other place was way too touristy. It felt more like a US theme park than a Costa Rica Zipline. If you want an authentic Costa Rica experience I definitely recommend The Original Canopy Tour.
