There were so many zipline companies to chose from in Monteverde. Originally I wanted to go with Selvatura because they had long cables, they were right in the cloud forest and had a Superman line. I changed my mind though when I found out that my youngest son (12 years old) would have to go with a guide because he was only 80lbs and would likely get separated from us. I even called a few times to verify and they said yes they couldn't guarantee that we would be kept together. So I ended up booking the 7:30am tour with The Original Canopy Tour. They were so great! I don't know how, but we were the only ones on the tour that morning. Gerald and David were our guides and they were great. My 12 year old was able to go on his own and he had the time of his life. They started us on the Tarzan swing which was a riot. 14 cables in total, a monkey drop and a climb up through a ficus tree. I loved that they built their platforms in the trees instead of big metal towers. Gerald was amazing at taking my camera and capturing pictures and videos of my family. We felt safe at all times and had a complete blast!

I'd never done zip-wiring before and this was a brilliant introduction. The tarzan swing at the beginning was thrilling and was a great start to the tour. Each zip line was better than the last and being in the lush, cool forest with the most majestic trees was awe inspiring. The guides were great - they all spoke good English and ensured everyone's safety. If you go to Monteverde, I'd definitely recommend doing this.

We have zip lined in Hawaii & Colorado. This is such an amazing experience. Start off with the Tarzan swing ( all 4 of us went even me - Mom). Super exhilarating, the literally zip line in the canopy. No go up to zip climb down to zip hike and repeat. You literally zip from tree to tree. It was VERY windy the day we went and you clung to tree branches as you got ready for the next line. You are truly in the tree canopy and sway with the wind. Very safe at all times. So many lines!! Enjoyed climbing back up thru the tree! Definitely challenges your balance and confidence. Highly recommend!!! Both our teens have told everyone how COOL and awesome it was. No freestanding platforms you are one with the trees!
