Somerset Vineyard and Winery

Somerset Vineyard & Winery, located on the property formerly known as Keyways, is a wine lover’s first stop along Temecula Valley’s De Portola Trail. The owners of Somerset share an unbreakable bond strengthened by a mutual passion to live and love in every moment of this life together. At Somerset, winemaking is the art of curating unique tasting wine that delights each drinker with every single sip. The vineyard is rooted on 13 acres that bear fruit from the Rhône varietals such as Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache and Syrah as well as the Spanish Macabeo, Monastrell and Tempranillo. This means that each bottle is an homage to ancient recipes born from soil and shared experiences.

The fruit for Callaway wines is sourced primarily from vineyards in the Temecula Valley region of California. The Temecula Valley benefits from its proximity to the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean, which allows a long, even and mild growing season. Fermenting at lower than usual temperatures causes longer and slower processing of the fruit, thus preserving and enhancing the crisp, fruit flavor of the grapes. My friends and I took a Temecula wine tour and Joe was our driver/tour guide. He was super awesome! The van was on time picking us up and Joe gave us plenty of time at each winery. He also shared a ton of information and history about Temecula wine country, which was cool! I will definitely be doing this tour again in the future. 10/10 good time.

enjoyed all the stops and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable! had a great deli lunch at our midday stop and cheese plate at the last stop. starting out in the little town of temecula for saturday market and coffee was perfect!
