In fact, the Castlesā€™ legendary beauty nestled among the St Lawrence Riversā€™ 1000 Islands will keep you returning year after year! The Thousand Islands Bridge Authority (TIBA) welcomes you to tour Boldt Castle to explore and experience an attraction like no other. Construction began on Boldt Castle in 1900 at the bidding of millionaire hotel magnate George C. Boldt as a tribute to his beloved wife Louise. Boldt Castle was designed as their summer dream home. A castle rivaling those of Europe, built on the St. Lawrence River, in the heart of the 1000 Islands. However it was not to be, Mrs. Boldt passed away suddenly just months before the completion of the castle. Mr. Boldt was inconsolable and immediately stopped all construction on Heart Island, leaving the property vacant for over seventy yearsā€¦ The Thousand Islands Bridge Authority (TIBA), who owns and operates Boldt Castle and the Boldt Yacht House, invite you to explore our website. Here you can glimpse what awaits you at Heart Island. A chance to experience the Boldtā€™s tragic love story and the magnificence of a bygone eraā€¦

We took this cruise on Saturday, August 13th. It was a beautiful day for a boat ride. The tour guide and the captain were great. The stories and the history of the islands were very entertaining. It was easy to hear them and the boat was clean and well stocked with beverages. The meal that was included with our tour was very tasty- a chicken wrap, macaroni salad, chips and 2 homemade cookies. The 2 stops - one at Boldt Castle on Heart Island and the other at the lighthouse and museum on Rock Island were fantastic. I would have preferred to stay a bit longer at Boldt Castle and limit the Rock Island stop to 45 minutes, but we thoroughly enjoyed both. We thought it was a great value for the price of the tour to be on the water for over 5 hours with a great crew and a smaller amount of people than some of the larger charter boats from Alex Bay especially during Covid. I also liked the route this boat tour took. We saw some Canadian islands as well as American ones. Cute little islands as well as mansions on more prominent ones. We enjoyed it so much that we will be back in the Fall to check out the foliage on the St. Lawrence using the same tour!

We had a fabulous day touring the St. Lawrence Seeway. Our guide Dennis was very nice to listen to and very informative. Captain Jack rounded it out with additional tidbits. This was the perfect way to see the islands and learn the history. Boldt Castle was really worth seeing. It was so grand and they even had a play house for the kids with a bowling alley. It was a spectacular day!
