The Wing Ride: The Hidden History of Chicken Wings Food Tour

Overview
Earn your wings on this fresh Buffalo food tour with samples of Buffalo's tastiest chicken wings. On this incredible journey, we’ll dive deep into the history of Buffalo’s most famous and misunderstood dish and attempt to answer the question, “Who was the true inventor of the first Buffalo Wing?”.

The tour begins with a visit with Lina Brown Young, daughter Buffalo’s original King Of Wings, who shares personal photos, stories, and her dad’s long-lost mumbo wing recipe, which had been unavailable for 23 years.

We’ll continue with a stop at the Anchor Bar, where we’ll learn the wild story of how their wings were born by accident and sample their classic Buffalo Wing. The tour concludes with a visit to Tiny Thai, an up-and-coming food truck, where we’ll sample a legendary recipe that connects the past, present, and future of chicken wings.

Experience the tour that’s been featured by the Food Network, NY Times, and Vice Media, and learn how an American food icon came to be.

Signed up for the tour to see more of the city and hit a couple more stops for wings. The Wing Ride did not disappoint. Marc was a great guide and it was a blast traveling around the city on the rental bikes. Pace was comfortable and the city was bike friendly. Visited a classic wing spot and two awesome locations that were a little more off the grid. Highly recommend!

Ah, thank you! It was great meeting the Musser bros! Wonderful hosting you guys and showing you some of the lesser-known spots of my beloved hometown. Good luck on your big bike tour coming up – thanks again and please be in touch if you are ever in Buffalo again!!

We were first timers on a bike tour and enjoyed our time with friends. Marc was a very good tour guide and was knowledgeable of much of Buffalo's history. We made stop's at La Nova Pizzeria to sample BBQ wings and pizza, Sato Cafe for Japanese Curry and sesame wings, and also Gene McCarthy's for Sheffield dry rub wings and pastillo's. Our bike ride was about 12 miles and took 3 1/2 hours plus to complete. The ride took us to several places we had never been to and gave us ideas for future excursions. Some crossings were a bit dicey but Marc was good at holding up traffic to allow us to safely cross.

Hey, Don!! It was great meeting your group and great fun meeting you all. I definitely appreciated how open you guys were – to even riding through the art show in the middle of some abandoned grain silos LOL. Good food, good people, good times. Thanks again and we hope to see you again :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Marc called the day before to delay our tour by an hour which was no problem for us. Since there was only him, myself and my wife on this tour, he made it up to us by keeping us out longer, again no problem. Mixed in history with each stop for Wings and also along the way. BBQ wings/pizza at Stop 1, Dry Rubbed Wings/Gravy Fries at Stop 2, and Sesame Wings at Stop 3. All three places were good for different reasons. The other places were closed because it was Monday but the three were enough for us. Marc did a fantastic job so please take one of his tours.
