As visitors touch a real iceberg, walk the Grand Staircase and third class hallways, reach their hands into 28-degree water, and try to stand on the sloping decks, they learn what it was like on the RMS Titanic by experiencing it first-hand. Each guest entering the ship will receive a boarding pass of an actual Titanic passenger or crew. If you love history of the titanic this is sure to be right up your alley. The experience is thorough. You are given a card of a passenger on the Titanic and at the end you find out if your person survived or perished. The grand staircase is just something to take in and behold. The stories really make this experience though. However, if you are taking your children understand this, they do have a youth experience in which they push the number and they give them the children's version of the information. This is really great, if the children are old enough. The 5 year old grew very impatient halfway through and then your experience is shot. She very much enjoyed Polar( an video interactive screen) at the end. There were lots of other parents with even smaller children looking just as miserable as me by the middle of it.

This museum is self guided with the fuse of hand held listening devices. Throughout the attraction there are numbers posted which when entered into the device, will tell more details about the area being viewed. Upon "boarding" each one is given a boarding pass with a real passenger's name from the maiden voyage of the Titanic. The pass tells a little about the person and why tbey are on the ship. As one proceeds through the galleries, you are encouraged to read and discover more about your passenger. Some passengers are mentioned, and some are not. At the end of the tour you will discover whether or not your passenger survived. Many artifacts are encased for observation on the tour, as well as many details about the ship itself. For those who enjoy history and ships, this attraction is wonderful. We spent about 2 1/4 hours going through the ship. Be aware that it is very cool inside, so west a light jacket if you wish. There is a gift shop with souvenirs at the end. You will also see a short video with the most recent discoveries with regard to the Titanic. It was a very enlightening tour. No videos, pictures or cell phone use is allowed inside.

My Granddaughter, Alivia and I had so much fun. She enjoyed everything about Titantic since seeing the movie and was thrilled to actually see the exhibits. She put her finger in the water and couldn't imagine how horrific it must have been. The life jackets and all the pictures made it so real. I enjoyed watching her run from one site to another, it was hard for Mamaw to keep up, but was exciting for me too. All the staff were pleasant and ready to answer the many questions. Thanks to everyone for making it such a wonderful experience.
