Took this tour just to give it a try and learn a bit of Salt Lake City history...really happy we did. We were picked up on time at our “meet location” and enjoyed about an hour and 45 minute tour. You make a couple of stops along the way, so you aren’t on the trolly the whole time. We stopped near the historic train depot, a Catholic Church and the State Capital. When we returned to the trolly after the church stop we were offered a free come and box of cracker jacks....very nice and unexpected. The tour is given by the very knowledgeable and very nice driver and two other costumed employees. They made it fun for us and they did not seem to be “going through the motions”, but wanted us to all have a good time...we did. I would definitely recommend this tour. It is well worth the cost (in my opinion) and I can all but guarantee that you will learn a thing or too...even if you are a Salt Lake resident (two of our party of four do live in the Salt Lake area and both said they learned several things they did not already know).

Okay, maybe the jokes are corny and the songs co-opted. It didn't matter, we had a great time. This is good family fun, and ideal if a full in-depth four hour tour is too much for your interest level. You get a nice, simple overview of Salt Lake City, presented in a very entertaining way by actors in costume. There are about three stops where you get out for photo opportunities and you do get a chance to go inside the state capitol building (very impressive). While the trolley won't win any prizes for seating comfort, it was okay for this tour and the air conditioning was very good. We had a four year old in our group and he loved it. Your family will, too.
