This was our first time in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, so we wanted to learn about Lancaster and the surrounding Amish community. We signed up for a morning tour, not knowing who our guide would be. Thatā€™s when we met Mike, our ā€œExperience Pilot.ā€ The tour started from the place where we parked our car, which was just a few short blocks from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument which apparently is the center of the historic district. Mike took us on a walking tour of the area, pointing out monuments and buildings, and commenting with historical facts and detail. The tour then continued in his van as we drove south into Amish country, all the time educating us on the history and customs of the Amish and Mennonite people. We stopped at a farm and had a snack, after which we went to visit an Amish dwelling. Mike is a very pleasant and knowledgeable tour guide. He was well prepared to answer all our questions. The tour lasted about two hours and was well worth it. We highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the area.

I enjoyed the 3 hours spent with our guide Michael on Monday. We had a small group of 3 - a diverse wonderful experience of Lancaster walk, followed by Amish countryside. We stopped by a farm with a creamery and an Amish well-to personā€™s home. The experience felt real, unlike a touristy event. I learned so much in 3 hours and enjoyed myself at the same time!šŸ˜€šŸ‘

Mike was very knowledgeable about the history of Lancaster. He answered all our questions about the Amish while we sampled Amish made ice cream and visited a wealthy Amish house.
