Ultimate Sunrise Whale Watch Tour from Lahaina Harbor

Overview

For the health and safety of our visitors, our tours will be operating at 75% vessel capacity to allow for social distancing this season. Only 16 guests maximum will be on this tour.

Our early bird discount whale watch is 1.5 hours of small group whale watching!

Our small groups of guests make every seat a front row seat as you enjoy whale watching and educational talks from our marine naturalist onboard.

Our inflatable rafting vessels are modeled after Coast Guard rescue rafts and are safe, travel quickly to find whales and a fun ride for the whole family.

On our whale watch we could travel anywhere from 2 to 10 miles from Lahaina harbor, often encountering dolphins in addition to humpback whales. All trips from December – April are guaranteed to see whales or you go again for FREE!

We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Our 2-hour small group Whale Watching tour is our most popular whale watching tour on Maui. Our fast and safe rafting vessels are low to the water and perfect for close encounters and small groups making every seat a front row seat! Listen to whale songs on our hydrophone and don’t forget your camera for epic photos of our humpback whale friends!

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

My husband and I decided on Ultimate Whale Watch for our water adventure this trip, and we could not have been more pleased. Parking was easy since we were a little early. Headed to the dock and found the slip number for our tour. There were about a dozen of us on the boat and there was not a bad seat to be had. We headed out to open water and were immediately experiencing humpbacks. While we did not get a breach closeby, we had spy hops, peck fin slapping and tons of fluke action. It was utterly amazing. I feel so bad that I cannot remember our crew's names, as those ladies were incredible!!!!!! Super knowledgeable, patient, helpful and funny as all get out. Do not hesitate to book with Ultimate. As a pro-photographer and former divemaster, this was a top notch experience and we are already planning a charter when we return in 2023! P.S. - if someone could let me know the crew's name (pictures attached) I would be so greatful.

Incredible! Whales breaching, mother and calf sightings, everything I could want in a whale watch tour. Early morning experience is the best. The ocean is calm, scenery beautiful and the sun is not too hot. The staff on the tour were very knowledgeable and friendly. Any and every question was answered. The on board whale expert was fantastic. He would point out a surfacing calf and would predict to the second when the mother would surface and how long she would be there before diving back down. Highly recommend this tour.

I cannot say enough good things about the crew and staff of Ultimate! They are all knowledgeable, personable and hilarious. They aren't afraid to stay out just a few minutes longer in order to bring you a truly memorable experience, as was the case for our sunrise tour back on 16 Feb! It was my 13 y/o daughter's first whale watch ever, and we followed a group of male humpbacks as they teased us by going from one side of our boat to the other, back & forth, for a good amount of time, showing off for a female by chin slapping and rolling over one another! We had a few others that we followed prior to that group, but no breaches... until we headed back to Lahaina! Of course, when we're on our way back in they start breaching! :) And that's where the amazingness of this company and crew come into play. We stayed out on the water a bit longer and ended up having one whale swim under our boat and surface just a few feet away. I was beside myself with excitement! If you're looking for the best whale watch on Maui, Ultimate is it!!
