Ultimate Sunrise Whale Watch Tour from Lahaina Harbor

Overview

For the health and safety of our visitors, our tours will be operating at 75% vessel capacity to allow for social distancing this season. Only 16 guests maximum will be on this tour.

Our early bird discount whale watch is 1.5 hours of small group whale watching!

Our small groups of guests make every seat a front row seat as you enjoy whale watching and educational talks from our marine naturalist onboard.

Our inflatable rafting vessels are modeled after Coast Guard rescue rafts and are safe, travel quickly to find whales and a fun ride for the whole family.

On our whale watch we could travel anywhere from 2 to 10 miles from Lahaina harbor, often encountering dolphins in addition to humpback whales. All trips from December – April are guaranteed to see whales or you go again for FREE!

We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Our 2-hour small group Whale Watching tour is our most popular whale watching tour on Maui. Our fast and safe rafting vessels are low to the water and perfect for close encounters and small groups making every seat a front row seat! Listen to whale songs on our hydrophone and don’t forget your camera for epic photos of our humpback whale friends!

Enjoyed a sunrise whale watching (7:00am, note the sun was up for some time) with Captain Emma and Naturalist Pat. The trip included Mom, Dad, and our 13 year old daughter. We decided to go with their company based on the small size of the ship. This reduced the crowds, as we aren't aggressive enough to push our way to the front of a crowd. Also we wanted to be as low to the water as possible to get a great idea on the size of these creatures, if we were lucky enough to see one. It was our second time whale watching. The first was near Channel Islands on a larger ship where our view was obscured by many other interested tourists. Pat and Emma worked well and where a great team. Emma carried most of the conversation and could fill the entire trip with information with a few interjections from Pat too. You understood from both they were deeply knowledgeable but more than their hearts were with the whales. They information was shared in analogies that made the commentary both more approachable and gave a better perspective of the whales. I recorded almost 30 minutes just because I enjoyed their perspective so much. I should mention we hoped to see a few whales, and maybe get lucky enough to see one breach. We had an unbelievable trip with multiple breaches (more than two hands worth) from multiple groups. The views from the smaller craft were absolutely perfect. Just sitting in our seats or turning around and kneeling and you had an unobstructed view of the whales. What I did not realize was how much fun the small craft would be with Emma at the helm. The craft was fast and flew across the water. Just boating with the views would have been an adventure in itself. We certainly had a great time and strongly suggest the Ultimate Whale Watch Company.

We visited on the last week of February 2022. Gabe and Hannah are great, they talk you through the fun about whale watching. Explains the reason of the whales being in Maui and why they stay. It takes an engagement for the conversation and they try to make the guest engaged. It's just sometimes hard to get engaged knowing that the whales will just pop out anytime and you would miss the moment. But it would also be worst if the boat is just suddenly an awkward silence of place to be. Nevertheless, it was fun and we had a great time, there was a breach of the mother whale, so we had a show happened. More than anything, we also had the knowledge and experience of being close to a whale. It is just humbling to be part of it. Highly recommended if you visit Hawaii during whale season. Don't miss out! AAA+++
