We had a great day on the water with sightings of fin whales, a minki whale and pods of dolphins. Nick went out of his way to ensure we had close up views of all. I highly recommend this tour.

Enjoyed a lovely trip Aboard. It was a successful trip to view grey whales and bottlenose dolphins. It didn’t feel rushed .. just super outing! I would recommend!

Dear Ocean lovers, Our family had the BEST adventure with Captain Nick to search for (and find!!!) a magnificent Blue Whale off the Coast between Newport and Dana Point. We chartered the private (up to 6 ppl) sunset cruise and it was about the same cost as joining a tour group on one of the big boats- what a deal!! And Y’all we got to see the whale come up three separate times for about 8 breaths each time- This was a priceless experience for our family and being on a smaller boat meant we could get pretty close to the whale and quickly catch up to her when she surfaced a little further from us. My husband will tell you the Dolphins all around us playing in the wake were his favorite part and the boys, they loved this more than Disney (not kidding)! We are huge nature people and this was one of the most spectacular nature encounters we have ever had! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A few other notes: I tend to get pretty seasick and so I bought Sea Bands for our whole family. I did wear mine but I don’t think I would’ve needed them! Although this is a smallish boat it was so powerful and cut through the swells without jarring us or anything. It felt kind of like a hovercraft! Also, Nick is so knowledgeable about whales and dolphins and taught us all kind of neat things about the sardines we saw popping at the surface and krill and migration patterns of the blue whales. We even learned how the boat captains work together to help locate the whales and help their passengers find them! It was a seamless trip onto Balboa Island where we got to the boat. Nick emailed us instructions about where to park and how to find his dock along with the location of a market right around the corner for snacks and a bathroom to use before we got on the boat. I don’t think it could’ve been any easier to make this trip happen! Nick, thank you so much for this once in a lifetime experience! Our three sons told my parents about this first when we got off of the plane in Texas!
