Underground Donut Tour - Boston Historic Downtown Tour

Overview

Our tour begins in the Financial District at Kane’s Donuts where we’ll sample several of their daily flavors. After which, we’ll take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront on our way over to Boston’s Public Market. While there, we’ll try some delicious donuts and apple cider. You’ll also learn some history around the market and have a moment to check out other vendors. On to our third stop, we’ll walk through Boston’s North End or “Little Italy” neighborhood - one of the oldest neighborhoods in Boston. In the North End, we’ll stop at one of the oldest bakeries in the neighborhood. We’ll have a uniquely Boston treat while we’re here. Lastly, we’ll walk back through the North End to end our tour back at the Public Market where we’ll finish with Union Square Donuts. We’re so excited to share this experience and the amazing donuts of Boston. We are still finalizing dates and times for the tour and will post those soon. We hope you can join us very soon!

We only require masks to enter any of the donut shops, assuming they are still enforcing customers to have masks. This policy may change over time as mask restrictions are lifted.

What To Expect

Boston Public Market

While at the Boston Market, guests will be able to see numerous different food vendors and various shops that are local to Boston. We'll also be able to try apple cider donuts and cider from a local donut maker.

North End

Boston's North End or sometimes called "Little Italy" is one of Boston's oldest neighborhoods. We'll walk through this neighborhood on our way to our 3rd stop on the tour. Along the way, we'll talk about the history of the neighborhood and answer any questions regarding the various businesses along the way.

We had a fantastic tour with our guide Sabrina. We learned so much about the history of Boston from her. It was a fantastic way to begin our stay here in Boston. The donuts were fantastic. Sabrina was extremely friendly and made us both feel very comfortable. We would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Sabrina!

We didn’t hear one complaint from any of the kids (8 yo, 10 yo, 10 yo) in our family, despite being outside in December and walking a good distance. Sabrina was a great guide that provided many historical facts and stories about different sites along the route, as well as information on the various donuts and donut shops. We live near Boston and still learned many new things. Our 10 year old daughter who says she doesn’t like walking tours, actually said she enjoyed it. She even became filled up on donuts halfway through, but happily continued on the tour. Breaks were well spaced out and there was an opportunity to warm up about mid-way through. The tour includes drinks along the way (choice of things like water, coffee, tea, etc) which is a nice touch. Everyone in our party, 4 adults and 3 kids highly recommend taking this tour.

Sabrina was phenomenal! We had Sabrina on a Sunday morning tour. So knowledgeable and entertaining and FUN! We didn’t want to go home. She is definitely doing what she should be, sharing her knowledge of the history of Boston and being a great guide. You need 10 more Sabrina’s.
