And when looking around, we didn't see anything that truly celebrated donuts in all their glory, hence the Underground Donut Tour was born. This tour is for anyone who truly enjoys donuts. At each location, you'll be able to try a curated sample or samples of that location's best donuts. Many locations offer vegan, gluten or nut free options, however, please make sure to let us know ahead of the tour, so we can make sure to highlight those specifically for you. Our tours include such favorites as Do-Rite Donuts, Firecakes, Stans, and Doughnut Vault.

What To Expect

The Loop

The Underground Donut Tour takes place over two hours. We'll visit four of the best donut stores in the city. All of them are located in the Chicago Loop area and we'll try a few donuts from each location. Donuts are included in the cost of the tour. You'll also have the option to purchase additional donuts if you wish.

I have now done this tour twice in two years and I can say it is amazing. Jeff and Ricky are excellent tour guides and make the experience very enjoyable. You can see their passion for doughnuts in their excitement during the tour. Not only is the walk enjoyable, but each stop on the tour brings a different, delicious treat. If you love doughnuts and you are looking for an activity to get you up and moving early then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour. Be sure to get your Underground doughnut tour pins and stickers!

I love donuts, but unfortunately there are not a lot of great options where I live now. When I planned my trip to Chicago, I knew that I wanted to visit one or two local donut shops. In the course of researching my options, I found this tour and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed, this was a great experience. I was able to visit several different donut shops, and sample several different varieties of great donuts at each place. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and was more than happy to accommodate a gluten allergy in our party. Additionally, the price of admission was very reasonable. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a fun walking and eating activity while spending time in Chicago.
