Shawn was fabulous! Full of stories, anecdotes and an encyclopedia of information. Itā€™s obvious that he loves what he does, he loves the horse industry and he has a huge network of contacts. He brought us to Hill ā€˜n Dale, took photos of us by Seattle Slewā€™s grave, pointed out their top stallion, Curlin, in the field next to us, and patiently answered several questions. We visited KatieRich farms, fed mares peppermints, spent time with foals and yearlings, and learned a lot. Shaun knew the horses by name and warned us about the specific horses who tended to be less friendly or prone to biting. Visited Dromoland Farm, chatted with their friendly Irish staff and watched a farrier at work and a horse exercising in the swimming pool. The final stop was at the Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, where we watched a top surgeon insert a pin in a horseā€™s fractured hind leg. Overall, a fabulous tour, with Shaunā€™s knowledge and easygoing nature being the icing on the cake. I donā€™t think anyone else could do a better job. Excellent value. You wonā€™t be disappointed.

Sean Washington, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and full of great stories he shared. We were promptly greeted at the Embassy Suites in an air conditioned coach and taken to three different farms to tour. Breathtaking grounds at the first one, up close interaction in the stables at the second one (Sean even brought peppermint candies for us to feed the horses and believe me they were waiting for their treats), and walking the grounds at the third farm watching mommies and babies graze in the fields. Our last stop was the horse hospital where we were able to see how the horses were cared for. There was nothing happening at the time we were there, but interesting to view the procedure room. I have two recommendations...bring something to drink. It was hot walking around and some hand wipes because your hands get dirty petting the horses. And Iā€™d bring my own peppermint candies to make sure the horses in the back of the stable get as many treats as the horses in the front. Overall great experience, would do it again in a heartbeat, and reasonably priced. Donā€™t forget to tip Sean. He really does a great job!!
