I arranged this horse farm tour while my family was in Lexington for a wedding. It was far more than we expected because Shaun Washington is such an amazing guide. We stopped at the Keeneland yearling sales, got a tour of the race track, then went to one farm where we were in the barns petting the horses and visiting the stallions. Shaun knew everybody and they all knew him. We also stopped at a farm where the owners came out to chat -they clearly knew Shaun and couldn't have been friendlier to us. Then we went down to the pastures to pet some mares and their offspring. It was such a very personalized tour and Shaun was full of stories and insight into the racing industry. By the end my husband said he'd love to come back when racing season was on....so we're heading back in the spring. Shaun already got us good tickets to the track and we're looking forward to seeing the foals that will be there in April.. Before the tour, my family was a bit lukewarm about going, but I said if you come to Lexington you need to see the horses farms. Now they are both looking forward to the return trip and it is because Shaun made it so magical and personal. He grew up there and worked with horses, so you really feel like you are with an insider (one who happens to have a great personality). Enjoy!

Upon a recent visit to Lexington, i did a bit of research on TripAdvisor. After logging in hours of internet searches,I decided to book a tour with Mr. Shawn Washington of Unique Tours. Either I was lucky or the reviewers know of what they speak. No wonder, Shawn is rated #1. Don't waste your time looking for a "hands on" and up close and personal guide. You found it with Unique Tours!! Thank you, Shawn for an incredibly memorable and informative experience!
