Call the Kentucky Horse Park, ask when the next tour is and sign up! My friend and I traveled from new england to visit another friend who was doing a veterinary externship in Lexington. We decided to sign up for Mr. Washington's tour after being unable to make arrangements at stud farms on our own. We were not disappointed! The three of us are lifelong equestrians, this tour fully held our interest and Mr. Washington is a horseman through and through. There was a big time racing fan on our tour who is going to be the next Bill Nack, he knew pedigrees and statistics had a great back and forth with Mr. Washington. There were also young children and non-horse people on our tour. It is fun for everyone. This is the only tour that goes to WinStar Farm (on certain days of the week) so if you want to see the big time stallions this is the tour for you. We were able to view broodmares and foals and a training stable it was an awesome time. Even spent some time with some PioneeroftheNile babies, you never know if you're petting the next triple crown winner. We even ended up seeing others from our group at Red State BBQ later on in the day. Do not hesitate to buy a ticket for this tour. I feel like I made a lifelong friend and it gave us a true Kentucky experience.

We had a great tour with Shaun! Our group includes horse owners and riders, and all really enjoyed seeing the horse farms and Shaun's terrific info and personality. Truly beautiful countryside. It was a really hot July day and Shaun treated us to ice cream. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you are attending an event at Kentucky Horse Park since it starts and ends at the Visitor Center.

So glad we took this tour. It was a great experience!! Shawn our tour guide, was amazing!! He takes you to some of the most beautiful farms, and visiting all of the horses was awesome!! Hearing all of the history and stories about these farms, etc. was really neat! Definitely recommend!! Can't wait to hopefully take this tour again this fall. Thank you for everything Shawn, you are the best!!
