Our last day in Kentucky we went on this tour with Sean. (Hope I've got his name right!) It was hands down the best thing we did all week. Sean is personable, knowledgeable, friendly and has a GREAT working knowledge of the places he took us. It really was like riding around with a good friend. We never felt rushed. He took us to a beautiful farm with everything from weanlings, broodmares, to young horses in training. The facility was in full operation and we observed the grooms caring for their horses. Sean even knew which ones we could pet and we got tons of great pictures! He shared lots of tips on their bloodlines which I really enjoyed. We went to visit a past Kentucky Derby winner and his groom explained his past surgeries and his special diet. We were thrilled to feed him peppermints and have pictures taken with him. We stopped at a local "hole in the wall" place and had delicious homemade snacks and drinks. All during the ride Sean fascinated with his vast trove of trivia on the area, history, and horse racing past and present. We went on some other tours earlier in the week and can compare...This tour has the best most comfortable bus, the best price, the best places to visit and best of all it has SEAN!!! It was convenient to be picked up at the Kentucky Horse Park, and Sean was so kind as to offer a ride back to area hotels if anyone needed that. He gave us great directions on the best place to go eat a Hot Brown, too! I plan to go back to Kentucky as soon as I can and will most definitely go with Sean on Unique Farm Tours again, hopefully more than once!

Anytime someone is visiting Kentucky, I take them on Sean's horse farm tour. His tour is by far the best in the area, as he knows the sport, the horses, the farms, and the people inside and out. Sean's tour is already the only horse farm tour that will let you get up and close personal with the farms and horses, but on each and every tour I've been on, Sean has found another way to make it a truly special and unique experience (on a recent tour, Sean arranged for me to have my picture taken next to my favorite horse, Bodemeister). A must-do on your visit to horse country!

As an experienced horse person, I was eager to visit the Thoroughbred Farms in Lexington. I have to say I was so impressed. Mile after mile, of white, or black, wooden fences. Traditional hand set stone fences, line green causeways along the highways. Rich Bluegrass and tall historic oaks dot the lush expanse of pastures. Herds of young yearlings frolic in the grass. Weanlings with their Dams nap away the mornings in the stalls after a night out in the pastures. The beautiful wood lined stables are busy with staff and the hustle and bustle of taking care of all the young charges. The smell of fresh Alfalfa, and wood shavings fill the aisle-ways of the barns. A visit to Lexington is not complete, without a visit to the iconic Thoroughbred farms of Kentucky! Not to be missed!
