This was a fun tour. We enjoyed seeing the breeding farms and beautiful countryside. We even talked with one owner. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend this tour.

There was nothing bad about this experience and Shaun was knowledgeable in some areas (notably Kentucky Derby winners) but perhaps our expectations were different to others who have joined this tour. We had hoped to learn a bit about the breeding, bloodlines, etc. but what this turned out to be was a pony patting for city types - basically we were taken around to a few farms to pat ponies, give them mints and see some foals. If we had at least known a bit about the mares or the foals it would probably have been ok but as horse owners in Australia with some knowledge of breeding in Australia and Europe it was of little value to us. There were some interesting statistics on the amounts (millions of $!) spent on some of the farms (and they were interesting to see, and quite amazing in some respects) but in reality access was pretty limited and some of the explanations were questionable (a horse in a paddock right next door to broodmares was apparently kept apart from others as it was a 'stallion' despite obviously being a mare!) I am sure this would be an enjoyable tour for those who have limited contact with horses or rural properties but I think most real horse people will get little out of it and would probably get as much from a simple drive around the area.
