The first farm we saw yearlings and pregnant mares. We were able to pet the horses, feed them peppermints, and talk with the horse caretakers. There were cats and a dog to pet too. It was very welcoming. It was the highlight of this tour. The second farm we were not allowed in the barns or close to any horses. However, it was a beautiful and we got some lovely photos. The third barn….I felt like we were trespassing. One person spoke to us but mostly we just stood there awkwardly. We had to drive the the Embassy Suites to meet the tour. We rushed to be on time only to wait on the tour bus.

What an amazing tour! If you want to get a true feel of the Bluegrass area and the horse industry this is the only tour to do. A group of 8 friends did the tour today, we all live in Lexington. We were truly impressed by the personal attention, willingness to accommodate, knowledge of racing, and how very courteous Shawn was. He has worked at several horse farms and been a chauffeur for several of the horse industry elite including Calumet Farm. He is an amazing story teller. This is a must do tour if you are visiting Lexington and want the perfect tour.

Highly recommend this tour. Shaun is the perfect tour guide and keeps you entertained with local stories that only he can tell. The farms are lovely as are the horses that you get to meet. Don’t pass up an opportunity to take this tour!
