WOW! What an amazing theme park. I was here with my husband and three children in February 2020. We had a 5-day multi-park Universal pass, and we still didn't get to see and do everything we wanted to because there is just so much fun to be had! We already can't wait to go back.
Highlights:
- If you like thrill rides, you will not be disappointed! Don't miss the Hulk coaster. My husband and I are huge roller coaster fans and we have been on dozens all over Canada and the US. We even got engaged on a roller coaster! The Hulk coaster ranks right up there with the best of them because of its speed and duration.
- The Harry Potter World is beyond what I could have imagined. My two older children and I are huge Harry Potter fans, and we had been told that the park was incredible, but it's even better that I was expecting. It's just like stepping into the movies or books. Everything down to the last detail has been thought of and is themed exactly as it should be. And the rides too, WOW!
- There was plenty for my youngest child to do too (age 2). She enjoyed meeting all of the characters, and I liked that we didn't have to wait in a huge line to meet them unlike at Disney World! There are also plenty of surprisingly fun smaller rides for young children.
- The child swap system is genius! It allows you to ride the big thrill rides even if you have a small child with you. You simply split your group in half, and while the first half enjoys the ride, the others wait in a comfortable air-conditioned room. Then, you get to swap places and the second half of your group gets on the ride without waiting in line again. It worked like a charm every time, and the child swap rooms always had some sort of movie playing or other entertainment to keep kids from getting restless. They even featured water fountains and change tables. A lot of thought and planning went into the child swap system and it was definitely appreciated!
- Despite being fairly busy, we were amazed at how quickly the line ups moved for all the rides. Even better is that almost all of the longer line ups featured themed entertainment along the way, so the waits were much more enjoyable.
- Even with heavy use, the restrooms were always surprisingly clean and well stocked. They even smelled nice!
- The food in the park is a bit pricey, but there are lots of options available and some of them are quite reasonable. We found several good places to eat, all with different menu options and themes. If you want to pay a bit less, walk across to City Walk and you'll find great quick-eats options.
- The staff at Universal's parks were incredible. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and one performer from the Mardi Gras celebration even went out of her way to dance with and entertain my toddler! My daughter was absolutely thrilled.
Overall, my family was so impressed with everything at Universal Orlando. It was just non-stop fun and we cannot wait to go back!
