Our rafting trip was a great addition to our friends' trip to TN and we had a blast. Our guide, Randy, was funny, personable, and made our trip a lot of fun (not to mention super experienced). Be advised, rafting trips still happen in the pouring rain, which is still fun, but not as fun if you wear glasses, so I'd advise keeping an eye on the weather when you book. It's better to get soaked by the river than by pelting rain.

Thank you for the great comments about your rafting trip with Smoky Mountain Outdoors and your guide Randy. It has been a little rainy lately, but we think rafting is the best activity for a rainy day because you will get wet anyway, but I am sorry it was a bit more difficult with glasses. Please come back and see us on your next trip to the Smokies, and have a great rest of the summer!

I have never been before but my girlfriend has 20 years ago. The guides name was Ian and he was awesome. It is a 6.5 mile run and 2 hours long. I was in the front with her on opposite sides and we are off. We hit a few rapids which were ok nothing crazy. Well that changed, paddle 2 paddle 1 and here we go. We hit a rapid that brought us up and then down with a twist and we were launched. That was some scary stuff only from the being tossed but as long as you remember what was told to you on the bus all would be good. I went under and got turned around swam to the top and Ian's oar got put out to me and he pulled me to the boat and pulled me in. My girlfriend got thrown and ended up under a raft but again the bus talk was right on. she came out and got lifted in by another guide on a different raft. ALL the guides were awesome. We talked and laughed about it. This is just me but I did give him a descent tip. The guide is the one that makes YOUR rafting adventure fun with all the back and forth about anything.
