We took our first trip to Gatlinburg hoping to do a whitewater rafting trip but were afraid there wouldn't be enough water in the river since we were arriving after Labor Day when they don't release as much water from the power plant. Because Hurricane Florence was on the way there was actually a little more water than usual being released. I was really apprehensive because I'm not a swimmer and was terrified that I would fall out of the boat. When we met our guide, "Rev. Dean" I was even more scared because he was by far the oldest in the group and I was afraid he was too old to handle the raft. Boy was I wrong! He may have been the oldest, but he was the most experienced and the most fun. We were able to do some maneuvers that the other rafts weren't able to do because of his experience and he made sure to keep us safe while we were having the time of our lives. I would recommend Rev. Dean and Smoky Mountain Outdoors to anyone for a great experience on the river.

"Reverend Dean" the Dunkin Machine is one of most experienced guides and he LOVES to share his knowledge and love of this area. He typically clocks more river miles than most of our staff while hiking an additional 20-30 miles a week on area trails. I'm glad you had a great time with him, and I hope we see you again for another adventure!

Rachel is an awesome guide on the waters. This trip was fun specially the part where they let you jump in the water at the end.

Glad to hear you had a great time on your rafting trip! Bomb's Lake does make for a great place to take a swim. I hope we see you again next time you are in the mountains!

Our raft guide, Big Dave (I believe was his name), was awesome. Very knowledgeable. We went out and got rained on a bit and the eater was a little rougher than I expected. This was my third time going WWR on the Pigeon, but my husband's first. Glad they offered a military discount. I'm sure we will come back again!
