While in Mobile we ventured down to visit the USS Alabama. This tour can be done regardless of the weather but could imagine the deck area may be slippery if it had rained. $4 to park the car, think it has to be cash and correct value. Having parked the car you pay to go ā€œaboardā€ in the small gift store. The tour of the USS Alabama is self guided, over several decks. Best to wear comfy non slip shoes as you do have to be able to negotiate your way up and down ladders to view the various areas below deck areas can be very narrow. Very humbling living accommodation and conditions. The USS Drum also there and again able to go down below. There are other various military vehicles tanks, helicopters to view also, Great time.

A must for all to visit. History takes you back in time that affords you the consciousnesses of the freedom you are living today. A heartwarming Veterans Memorial was in progress aboard the USS Alabama followed by a luncheon.
