Valley of Fire and California Mojave Desert Tour

Overview
The Mojave Desert is a xeric desert in the rain shadow of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the Southwestern United States. It is named for the indigenous Mojave people. It is located primarily in southeastern California and southwestern Nevada, with small portions extending into Arizona and Utah.
Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering nearly 46,000 acres (19,000 ha) located 16 miles (26 km) south of Overton, Nevada. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays. It is Nevada's oldest state park, as commemorated with Nevada Historical Marker #150. It was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1968.

The tour was a great time. Our driver Denny was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He offered to take many pictures of us and took us to beautiful scenic spots. Well worth it! Highly recommend this tour.

~this is a great adventure! Totally worth the money. Also this was my first hike. Our group was 40+ year old's and it was totally doable. ~Denny was our tour guide. PSA the guides aren't allowed on the trails. Also was not pushy when we were taking extra time enjoying nature. ~when you get to the trail he gave us the option we could do one of two sides that would be a down and back. Or do the circle with both trails included. We choose the circle as a group. The longer of the two was a lot more flat grounds. The other had some climbing areas (no equipment needed. just a steady step.) When I do it again, I'll bring a backpack of sorts to carry and extra water. I took one but I wish I would've taken two (which were provided.) ~ALSO there are goats. Adorable horned goats. We saw some along the road way and also on the trail. They seemed unbothered by our presence. ~Notably when you book the tickets it can seem a little sketchy. The email/text the night before came in later in the evening. I checked about 100 times. It came, you can text back. This is the second "excursion" I've done that I felt was going to be bad. However neither were. ~Take the chance. When in VEGAS you should just *Roll the Dice*
