This trip is so worth the wait. I thought that we were going to have light snacks on the train, to me it was a meal. Everyone on the train was very nice and helpful. The scenery was just beautiful. We saw mule deer along the way. I highly recommend this adventure.

Be sure to book your trip about a month in advance. This train ride is a beautiful as the pictures show. It was a bit warm for the first weekend of Sept, but the cars have cooling. The servers & guides on the train are very knowledgeable about the area & i loved how they gave advance notice for photo opportunities. You'll see cliff dwellings & go through one tunnel. This would be perfect for a fun romantic date. The drinks in First Class were yummy!

I was hesitant about taking a 4 hour train ride but it was enjoyable and the drive from Sedona was pleasant. We purchased First Class tickets and had plenty of room on the train. We sat on a sofa and at first were concerned about the lack of leg room as there is a table between two sofas facing each other but it was fine. The staff on the train were very friendly and the bartender took our orders while we stayed seated the entire trip. Drinks were pricey. The food was good and there was plenty for everyone. They had wings, rib pieces, veggie tray, fruit tray and brownies and as much water as you wanted. The views on the trip were amazing and the employee on the open car who was a retired teacher was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Definitely recommend if you want a relaxing day checking out the scenery. After the ride we went to Nic’s Italian Steak and Crabhouse in Cottonwood that was recommended by our concierge and a couple we met on the train. It opens at 5 and people were lined up outside before 5 to get a table so get their early. Not much to do before the train ride and sufficient parking so you don’t need to get there too early.
