Just excellent ! We were taken on the Verde Canyon Railroad by friends and we had a brilliant time - loved every minute of it. Service was really good with information as you go along. Didn't get to see any Eagles unfortunately but we did see Deer. Highly recommend

If you like history and breath taking scenery, this trip through the Verde River Canyon is a must do adventure. Experience this from the comfort of a spacious rail car with comfortable seating, good snack food and drinks and it can't get much better than that. The leisurely pace of the train calms the soul and allows plenty of time to soak in the natural wonders and take plenty of photos. We were even treated to sightings of osprey, bald eagles and mule deer who were obviously comfortable with the passing train. I cannot think of a better way to spend an afternoon in Arizona.

I took a hundred photos. The scenery was spectacular I loved the feel of the old train. The snacks were that... snacks. Relish tray, chicken wings, fruit, cookies. We didn't buy the ticket for the food so we felt that the food was fine. The biggest disappointment was the recorded information. Many people were talking and we could not hear the recording being piped through the speakers as we passed various points of interest. We spoke to both attendants and it was clear that they were not concerned. Selling more drinks was the agenda for the ride. The one attendant who mentioned it was only her second day on the job, told us if she turned it up then people would complain when the music came on. For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone who purchased tickets would NOT want to hear the history! Tours are only as good as the guide who is giving them. Most are very good. I believe it's rare to get one that isn't as helpful. Having said all that, I am glad we had the experience to ride the train and see the sights!

Thank you for sharing your experience. We welcome comments such as this as it is the only way we can grow and adjust our service. If you would like to share your last name and the date you rode the train with me I can look up who your attendant was and we can do additional training to ensure proper service going forward. My cell phone is 602-316-9887 and email is [email protected].
