Verde Canyon Railroad
It’s not the destination, it’s the journey! Enjoy a luxurious train ride through a 20-mile wilderness area, along a wild and scenic river, only accessible by rail. For 3.5-hours, enjoy comfort and style, exceptional amenities and outstanding service in vintage rail cars on a century-old route. Wind your way through a red rock paradise, with tracks that hug the curves of the Verde River. Every season offers a different reason to ride! Astonishing views of a wild and vibrant frontier, historic trestles, bridges and a 7000-foot tunnel are just a few of the highlights tucked into unusual rock formations, red rock pinnacles and towering crimson cliffs. Majestic bald eagles and hawks float effortlessly on the breeze above Javelina, wild burros, jackrabbits and many other Canyon creatures, peacefully coexisting with this heritage railroad for more than 100 years.

The train ride was amazing got to see a differ t side of Arizona you don’t get to see often and it was awesome we were able to take out baby the people at the station and on the caboose were amazing the only thing thing is that our train ride that was scheduled for the 25 at 12:40 was canceled and we didn’t know so we had to make a second trip to Clarkdale back to back but other than that it was a great experience

Thank you for sharing Vicky. Was the "narration" working in your car during the journey? I ask because we do fill that portion of the experience with history, culture and interesting facts about our area. If you would like to add any information for me you can email me at [email protected] or call me at 602-316-9887.

Purchased 2 first class ticket giving us comfortable seats at a large window. Champagne toast with sandwiches, chicken wings, fruits and water. Alcohol can be purchased. We bought lunch prior, not knowing what food to expect. Wasn’t necessary. Gift shop with cafe. Food can be taken outside to covered/ slatted roof picnic tables. It was cool. Bring a sweater because you can go to an outside car on the train and it’s breezy. It was rainy/ cool even though we came from 80+ degrees near Peoria. Pretty 4 hour trip but many areas have trees growing between the train and the view, so be quick with photos. I wish the staff / door mechanism would close the doors of the car when the weather is cool. The tunnel was fun but keep your arms in ! Great train music from all eras while a ore recorded tutorial plays. There are guides answering questions. Enjoyed the trip !
