This 3.5-hour train ride goes through the Verde Canyon and offers stunning views. Our train car hostess was attentive and entertaining-she pointed out various points of interest along the way. But.....the buffet was not very good. It was self-service, and we were told to get our food as soon as we leave the station because what was on the buffet was it for the entire trip. Small sandwiches, veggies with dip, chicken wings, cut-up fruit and cookies. We booked first class seats which were very comfortable, but the food was definitely not first class. In my opinion they pushed alcoholic beverages too much. Nevertheless, it was a fun ride, and the scenery was beautiful.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. There are times we need to be reminded about the level of expectation a customer has. We are sorry we failed to provide the best food experience possible. We do take every comment seriously and will consider this as we review our food and beverage service.

We were on this Railroad two years ago and it was much better then. We were disappointed in the narration; hardly any. Two years ago we heard all kinds of information about the valley we went through. This year hardly anything. We were in Cottonwood first class coach and couldn’t hear anything thru the speakers. So we got moved to another first class coach and we were in there by ourselves (4 of us) and there were only 2 speakers working. That was Wickenburg coach. The speakers were not loud enough. The scenery was beautiful but you need to have more narration about the valley and get those speakers louder! Thank you.

Train ride was nice into the canyon with beautiful scenery. We were convinced by a local to do first class because you get service like it was in the old days, white gloved and good food. Paid extra $25 per person for first class, all we got was a bowl of chips, help yourself to lunch meat sandwiches on dry rolls, cold tiny chicken wings, olives, and a few veggies. The alcoholic drinks were good but service was slow and they were rather expensive. Recommend eating before you go and save $25.00 per person!
