What To Expect

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Travelers will take of from Hilo Airport where they will fly directly to the volcanoes national park. Along the way they will see orchid farms and lush native forest that are in large part only found on big island. The volcanoes national park gives breathtaking views of lava flows both old and new.

Our trip with Safari Helicopters to the Volcano National Park was one of the highlights of our trip. Sam, our pilot, flew very smoothly and was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much from her about the volcanoes- all 5 of them. We were very excited to see glowing lava, though in small amounts (Mother Nature came through). We also enjoyed the views of the waterfalls on the east shore above Hilo.

We ( my husband, our 22 year old, and 2 teenagers) really enjoyed our helicopter ride with Safari Helicopter. Our pilot Sam was very considerate to our needs and checked in throughout the flight yo make sure our tummies were still feeling good. She flew us over the active volcano and made sure to circle around in both directions several times to make sure we all got yo see the view. She was very knowledgeable about Hawaii. Cookie, her flight/ office assistant, was so friendly. We had a great time.
