What To Expect

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Travelers will take of from Hilo Airport where they will fly directly to the volcanoes national park. Along the way they will see orchid farms and lush native forest that are in large part only found on big island. The volcanoes national park gives breathtaking views of lava flows both old and new.

My family of 5, including children ages 10,7,3, had a fantastic time on our tour! Cookie was friendly and helpful in getting us all checked in and prepped. Our pilot, Sam, was fantastic! We appreciated how safety-oriented she was (by informing us that she was a pilot first and tour guide second), but she was also a very informative tour guide full of knowledge and information which she freely shared. She was great at pointing out sights of interest, as well as giving us some great recommendations on things to do in the area with our boys. We felt completely safe and comfortable, and we all enjoyed our time! It was well worth the money and the drive from the Kona area. After our morning helicopter tour, we explored the NP on foot which was just the right amount of time for our kids. It helped seeing the views from the air first. Thank you for giving us a unique vantage point from which to view the volcano!!

Excellent experience from booking to checkin with Stephanie and Cookie at Hilo airport. The drive from Kohala is very pretty (we went across Waimea to the east coast going and came back on saddle road - 1:30 each direction). Our pilot Sam was excellent and she made it very engaging with good music and color on the geology of the island. She was an extremely careful pilot and was as buttoned up as they come! We saw the lava flows, waterfalls, and humpback whales on the journey. While $1500 feels steep for six, it’s a great value vs competitors like Blue Hawaiian, and worth the drive to Hilo vs paying $4k from kohala…thanks for a great tour!
