What To Expect

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Travelers will take of from Hilo Airport where they will fly directly to the volcanoes national park. Along the way they will see orchid farms and lush native forest that are in large part only found on big island. The volcanoes national park gives breathtaking views of lava flows both old and new.

Kyle was a great guide. Also we got to see a large active lava flow. The waterfalls were beautiful also.

I have always wanted to do a helicopter tour -- so I finally did. We went as a family and had a wonderful tour around the volcanoes and part of the bay. It was spectacular. The pilot was very gentle and she always told us when she was going to make a turn (that helped immensely). We had hiked to see the volcano a couple days before the flight, so it was very cool to see it from above. She (the pilot) also flew past and told about about water falls that we could hike to.

We were flying today with Samantha Hansen. She is a great pilot. We were feeling absolutely safe the whole time. Samantha explained a lot of interesting things about the island. We were flying over the volcano national park, saw some lava, flew over a waterfall and even saw some humpback whales in the end. It was a fascinating journey. Highly recommended.
