What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

Seeing the sea turtles and the fish while in the submarine. It was such a cool experience I loved that they have sunken ships and airplanes so the coral and fish can be by it.

It was canceled and we wasted hours of our precious time on our honeymoon. We were REALLY looking forward to it and could have done it on Maui the week before.

Husband and myself had already sailed aboard Atlantis submarines while visiting The Bahamas years ago, excellent experience!! This Winter we tried the Atlantis “Explore our Waikiki” tour; their submarine departs from Hilton Waikiki Village harbor and we chose an afternoon sail. The whole adventure lasted less than two hours, the real dive about one hour with 20+20 minutes to shuttle to the submarine. Our Captain managed for a calm, slow dive,down to 100 feet beneath the sea surface; day light was gently decreasing … but,as soon as your eyes got used to the pale ocean lightning, you started to witness an incredible beauty: green turtles swimming aside us, large colonies of tropical fish, a gentle manta sliding by… Wonders of the ocean! The submarine leads you close to a few sunken items, a shipwreck, a sort of a pyramid structure (where some kind of fish congregate) and the man-made-reef built not far from beautiful Diamond Head! We also liked to watch our submarine emerge from the ocean, exceptional experience, very cool! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, though you must be prepared to see “grey/greenish” fish and scenery, NOT the colorful and magic tropical fish you admire with documentaries made by National Geographic or on YouTube.
