Due to updated Coast Guard requirements, all guests and crew must wear masks while in enclosed spaces aboard all our vessels which include Atlantis Submarines. Atlantis Adventures will no longer require guests to show proof of vaccinations or negative Covid-19 tests at the time of check-in.

What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

This is a worthwhile experience. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We feel the amount of time spent on board is enough. Our only recommendation to anyone going to experience this adventure, one from your party should face port side and one should face starboard to capture pictures from both sides as you do not always pass same areas on way back.

Had a great time with this excursion. We weren't expecting to see much but were surprised by a good amount of sea life including 2 thresher sharks(which is quite rare apparently) and some huuuge lazy sea turtles along with many different fish which the guide informed us about and little tidbits of their biology and the backgrounds about the artificial coral and other sunken items which were covered in fish. We were on the early excursion and it was busy with fish. Really enjoyed the experience, the ferry over to the sub was fun too and the Hilton port has a great vantage point for a picture with the Diamond Head in the background along the coast line. Highly recommended even just for the cool sensation to be cruising 100ft below the water.

Pros - awesome and attentive staff. Cool views and informative tour. Sub doubled back so both sides had same experience. Unique adventure for families! Cons- the time when the boat stops and you board the movement can cause some to have motion sickness. Expect to wait a while to board especially if someone ahead of you has a physical limitation. We wish we had taken motion sickness pills ahead of time. It took time to situate self once in sub. The speakers on the pier and boat made it difficult to hear anyone who was speaking. Better on the sub but still not great. We were never really sure when they were speaking English or Japanese.
