What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

The only memorable part was being underwater and seeing the ocean bottom. There were some fish but not the schools of fish or coral like I was expecting, and like I have seen in other places. Disappointing and a waste of time. What we saw was a ship that was sunk, parts of an airplane, and another structure. It appeared to be very commercial and not a true underwater experience.

Excellent adventure! I have done it twice now and both times were terrific! The time goes by really fast while you are under the water, take lots of pictures! The guides are extremely informative and you feel comfortable and safe while on board the submarine. Its cool, comfortable, and not crowded. Seating is bench-type side by side. Going up and down the ladder to enter and exit the sub is kind of tricky, I would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues or weak legs. Tight quarters so do not go if you are claustrophobic in the least. You will see lots of fish and sea creatures. Worth the money in my book.

I did not know what to expect when I signed up for this. They take you out on a boat and cruise over to the submarine. It was pretty cool to see the submarine surface. And when you go down in the submarine, you can look out the window and see the bottom of the ocean. I think they said we dived down to 120 feet or somewhere close to that which is the lowest they went down. As we cruise along, you could see the ship and plane wrecks they placed down there as a safe have for the fish. At one point, we could see a shark hiding underneath one of them and a turtle hanging out.
