Walking History Tour of St. Augustine's Historic District

Overview
Our tour takes a unique approach to tours in St. Augustine. We limit our groups smaller to create a more personal experience. Our certified guides offer the most experienced and entertaining historical narrative of the city of St. Augustine, locations of historic events and the citizens who helped create and maintain the oldest city in the nation.
We will cover the founding of the city, the first Spanish period (1565-1763), the British Period (1763-1784), the second Spanish period (1784-1821), the American territorial period (1821-1845), and the Flagler Era (Gilded Age, 1884-1913).
This is a walking tour which covers a 1.7 mile route over the 90 minutes of the experience. It takes place during the day in Florida, so plan accordingly.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, sunscreen and maybe an umbrella as well. There will be restrooms available at the beginning, end, and at the midway point as well.
This is the perfect tour for the history enthusiast!

St Augustine Trolley tours are everywhere, but we went on some great walking tours in Spain last year and decided to stick with walking. We are glad we did. Kevin went into much greater detail than we would have had on the moving trolley and even recommended some of the other tour sites while we were walking. Kevin is knowledgeable but also has a passion for the history of the city and this passion came through in his detailed descriptions of the impact that Henry Flagler had on the state as a whole. As a bonus, he recommended O'Steens for fish and it was a great local place that we enjoyed. The tour lasted around 2 hours, and all the walking was on flat surfaces.

Kevin with Spyglass Travel is a font of information. I really wanted a historical look into all of the monuments and buildings of St. Augustine and he provided a friendly and deep introspective look into everything around us. I highly recommend this tour and Kevin is a consummate professional who really understands his subject.
