It was great to see Washington and we covered a lot of ground in one day but it would have been nice to be more comfortable. There was absolutely no leg room for us in our seats, my knees were touching the seat in front of me for the whole trip, and I am only 5"6. It was like and extra two seats had been squashed into the bus and then not spaced out as everyone else had plenty of leg room. It is not comfortable to sit in this way for 8 hours.
As for the tour, the drive was smooth and we reached all the landmarks with enough time to take pictures, though it would have been better to stop for longer at the monuments and museum rather than Madame Tussauds.
Our guide was nice but it would have been great to get a little more information about each location.
A lot of reviewers have said that you can only eat McDonalds, but there is a stop in Delaware where you can stock up on plenty of food, plus the McDonalds is pretty fresh in Washington anyway.
At the end of the day we managed to see Washington in just one day which is all we really wanted, aside from more leg room of course.
The trip is a bit long, because you spend 4/5 hours to go and 4/5 hours to come back. However, watching tonly he Lincoln Memorial is well worth visiting. I recommend a longer
Washington as such is worth visiting. Our tourbus was not of standard we are used to in Europe during such a long tour. Air-condition was not automatic and it worked only when the driver put it on manually for some minutes. Our jewish tourguide reserved the frontseats for the clients of Israeli origin who came to the bus 15 minutes past departure. The places we visited in Washington were interesting, perhaps instead of the space museum you could offer Indian museum close by. Also it would have been nice if we could have had other choices to have lunch instead of McDonalds. Anyway we managed to see Mr. Obama, which was the highlight of the tour.
