Overview

Maui Mountain Activities offers horseback rides that take you up into the West Maui Mountains to view waterfalls (seasonal) from a distance, then down to the coastline to ride alongside the Pacific Ocean. Experience the tranquility of Maui's native rainforests and the beauty of its waters. There is a run spot where you can run your horse, if you want (weather permitting), and your guides will take photos of you with your camera along the way. Tour through the petting zoo and experience up close the many animals, which may include mini horses, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and sheep. This is a 2 hour tour. Soft drinks are provided and complimentary.

ACCURATE body weights are mandatory. If you exceed the body weight given to us by 15 pounds, we will try to see if there is a horse that can accommodate you. If we do not have a horse to accommodate you, you will be unable to ride and will not be refunded.
All Maui County rules and regulations are followed. No masks required.

We hired a private guide for our foursome so we wouldn't slow down a big group as we aren't frequently on horseback and just wanted to be able to go at our own pace. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable but about 15 minutes into our ride my horse stumbled going uphill and as I shifted to stay upright the saddle came completely off the horse and me with it - hard. They brought a four wheeler up to get me back down the hill as I could barely walk. The "incident report" was a scrap of paper. The guide said he would forward it to the owner/manager and to expect a call from him and the owner. We went to the clinic in Lahaina on the way back to our hotel. We never heard via phone, email or text from anyone at Maui Mountain Activities. Not an offer to refund a portion of the fee, not to ask how I was doing, not to say sorry for not cinching the saddle tighter - crickets. They had all my info, and I put my phone number on the incident paper as well. Pretty disappointed with their customer service. I won't get into the medical outcome but it impacted the rest of the trip and still is an issue. Unfortunately no one can read minds, but it feels like "you signed the waiver so we don't give a crap."

it took a long time to get everyone on horseback. We walked mostly in single file through paths in densely wooded areas. Was really hoping to ride along the beach. When we got to run the horses, it was just up a narrow path. Was hoping to run free in a large field or something similar.

Fred And Selena took great care of our entire family... Even though it rained a little more than we expected, it was totally worth it.
