Overview

Maui Mountain Activities offers horseback rides that take you up into the West Maui Mountains to view waterfalls (seasonal) from a distance, then down to the coastline to ride alongside the Pacific Ocean. Experience the tranquility of Maui's native rainforests and the beauty of its waters. There is a run spot where you can run your horse, if you want (weather permitting), and your guides will take photos of you with your camera along the way. Tour through the petting zoo and experience up close the many animals, which may include mini horses, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and sheep. This is a 2 hour tour. Soft drinks are provided and complimentary.

ACCURATE body weights are mandatory. If you exceed the body weight given to us by 15 pounds, we will try to see if there is a horse that can accommodate you. If we do not have a horse to accommodate you, you will be unable to ride and will not be refunded.
All Maui County rules and regulations are followed. No masks required.

My 16 yo daughter and I did the morning ride with Maui Mountain Activities after reading the reviews. We are experienced riders but I had not ridden in a few years and she had not in over a year. The staff paired us up perfectly with Appy and Turtle. We loved being able to ride up to see the mountain peaks with waterfalls in the distance as well as along the coast. All the staff were friendly, easy to talk to, and assured we were comfortable with our horse and in the saddle. We even had the opportunity to run (and I do mean run and not canter or trot). It has been the best part of our trip so far. I will warn you that you will get dirty but we didn’t mind one bit. The lady at the grocery store asked us if we had been working hard. Lol Staff also gave each rider saddle bags to keep your keys, phone, and water handy. They even used our phones to take the best pictures on the mountain and coast. Thank you Christina, Selena and Fred for memories that will last a lifetime!

I had a wonderful trail ride on a really nice gelding. The weather was a little cloudy and rainy but the trail was still in very good shape. The herd is well managed as was apparent in the horses' appearance and in their behavior on the trail.

Horses were well taken cared of, treated kindly, place well maintained. Riders were matched with the horses, gears secured and double checked. Two guides were with our group (appr 12-14), constantly making sure that no one was left behind and were comfortable on the horses. Trail was nice (dusty! Make sure to wear protectice glasses/sunglasses/mask). Cold drinks before and after. The guides took pictures with our cameras as well, positioned us in a nice background picture spot! (Twice!) gave enough time for the horses to rest and for us to enjoy the view. Thank you all to the staff. We look forward to next time. More power to you!
