Our 2.5 hour whale watch consisted of moving about a half mile out into the bay, finding 3 whales and sticking with them for 2 hours. They would go down for 20 minutes, come back up and blow about 200 yards off our boat and go back down. We didnāt look for any others or any other marine life. Look for 90 seconds and wait for 20 minutes. We did this 5 times and sailed back in. Pretty disappointing particularly for $200+. Could probably see the blows from shore. We did the next day at Lapakahi Park. For free.

Aloha Cruiser232624,
This kind of review is a bit difficult to respond to because essentially you are describing a trip on which a captain exercised good judgment. Finding whales on a whale watch that are willing to cruise with us is pretty amazing. The fact that these whales weren't as active as you would have liked is understandably disappointing, but would we make a different choice on a different trip? Probably not. Those two whales could have started breaching at any moment, and there was no guarantee we would leave them to find anything else of interest.
Still, we apologize that you were disappointed and would have been happy to work with you to ensure you had another shot to see some more interesting behavior. We wish people would come talk to us. We promise-- we are a pretty reasonable bunch.
Thank you for your business Cruiser!
Mahalo,
