We were very lucky on our Christmas Day 2018 whale watching cruise - we saw a whale breech the water, saw her calf try to do the same and even more special saw a whale shark right up close !!! The crew were friendly and having someone on board explain what we were seeing and provide some facts on the marine life we were seeing was the best. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting the Big Island.

Our tour was...ok. Yes, we saw humpback whales (just the dorsal fins of a Mom and baby) so in that sense our trip was a success. That said, we had a 30 minute trip out and then sat in very choppy waters for over 2 hours. Most of us had to sit with our heads on the tables and just wait for it to be over. We didn’t try and see other whales who may have been more active, and we didn’t turn around. Felt awful for the rest of the day and night.

Aloha Jessica C, Always sorry to hear about sea-sick travelers. Takes some time for some to get their sea-legs, and on vacation, for the sea-sensitive, it can be a tall order if you don't know what steps to take. We recommend dramamine for sea-farers like you in the future. Taken a few hours in advance, it alleviates these types of troubles. As far as sticking with the mother and calf you all found, please know that our experience tells us that a bird in the hand is better than two in the nest. In our beginner days a couple of decades back, yes, we may have left discovered whales for the possibility of more exciting sightings elsewhere, to our passengers ultimate dismay. There is much more success to be had staying in locations where we know, for a fact, whales are. Thanks for the review Jessica! We hope you give us another shot in the future. We'd love to have you on a snorkel trip! That way, while you're having fun in the sun, a whale sighting becomes an added bonus instead of the entire point of the excursion. Once I saw a humpback breach while I was jumping off of our high jump and it is an experience I'll never forget. Mahalo, The Body Glove Cruises Team

Body Glove whale watching is a great way to spend an afternoon. In addition to seeing a mother and her baby frolicking in the ocean, we were treated to manta rays, a hammer head shark, and spinner dolphins. Besides the excellent marine life, another big selling point of this company is the narrator (a marine biologist?) who is extremely knowledgeable and interesting. The boat is very clean, crew are helpful and courteous, and the length of the voyage was just right. I would recommend this excursion for all ages.

Aloha tuttie55, We truly appreciate the intention of this review. It sounds like you really had fun on our vessel and we truly appreciate your business. It's pretty competitive out here. For that reason, and you may already know this so forgive us if so, we just want to make you aware that a four-star review actually hurts our business. As far as Whale Watching Adventures go, the list of sightings alone here warrant a five-star review. Trust us, we've been on a lot of them! We only felt the need to say so because it seems like you were really meaning to show support to our business. Thanks Again, The Body Glove Cruises Team
