I looked forward to this excursiton all week and prayed for beautiful weather, which I got! The crew was super-friendly--lots of aloha. The naturalist on board was a wealth of information, and I learned a great deal about the humpback on this trip. We did see a few blows and backs of whales, which was cool, but no breaches a just a couple of tails. The captain tried to follow and/or wait for sightings, but they were rare. There simply is no predicting when and where these animals would appear! I actually saw more from driving around and from shore. But I would definitely try it again! It was a great time out on the water!

We have done a few whale watching excursions/activities and also during every snorkel and dive activity we have done we have also seen whales on our way to & from the snorkel or dive sites.....keep that in mind if you can only manage one or the other...the captains always always take a few minutes to let you see the whales and capture a few pics if seen during the to or from a dive/snorkel site vs booking a trip only for whale watching. As expected its alot of watch and see! look for the blow , drive the boat in that direction (not to close) and hope to spot oa dive or a a tail.\We did luck out a spotted a whale early only a few minutes from leaving the dock. He didn't end up surfacing after 15-30 minutes and fairly rough ease (and ALOT of people getting sick) so we moved onto another site site.\This time we did see some spectacular view of a whale surfing the waves beside the boat. It was pretty awesome.\The crew are friendly enough but on this day were kept pretty busy swabbing the deck and running with barf bags due to the number of people getting sea sick.TIP whether you think you might get sick or ot always take dramamine before you leave the dock - you will be happy you did in case the winds pick up and swells are high (this day we have 5-7 foot swells and a crosswind!) Overall for a trip in the bigger boat like this the tour was good and comparable in pricing. I enjoyed the whale watching tour we did on north part of island in a small boat (max 8) much better but we had other activities booked in the Kona (Ali'i drive) area which is why we booked with Body Glove.Overall I would recommend as a good tour but not one that I would likely do again just due to our personal preferences. That being said we got some great video footage of the whale surfing!

I was disappointed to say the least. We followed a whale for two hours and only saw it's tail the entire time. I know that it's not guaranteed to see a whale, but I feel like it's really a waste of money if you don't see a whale breach. I learned a lot from the whale expert that day, but I still think it was not worth the money. I hate writing bad reviews but I was thoroughly disappointed

Unfortunately, Mother Nature is unpredictable, which his why we guarantee a whale sighing, or we will give you another cruise free of charge. Mahalo for your feedback and much aloha to you.
